Valerie Becker-Nogueira Headshot

Meet Valerie Becker-Nogueira, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in community relations, marketing communications, and events.

Valerie's non-profit career began at the Boys and Girls Club of Dorchester, where she saw firsthand how their programs transformed the lives of local youth. In 2008, she joined the American Red Cross during the Great Recession. She was humbled to be part of teams that trained and licensed healthcare workers, distributed groceries to families experiencing food insecurities, and provided disaster relief assistance. Her desire to make a difference in people's lives remained constant, even as she worked in several industries, including healthcare, consulting, and the performing arts.

As a proud alumna of Boston Arts Academy, Valerie shares, "If not for Boston Arts Academy, I would have never studied dance or attended college."

Her transition into a role with the foundation comes full circle, and she is excited to support Boston Arts Academy students and a school that holds a special place in her heart. Valerie completed her studies at Boston Arts Academy as part of the third graduating class, after which she earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Communications from Emerson College. She is the Founding Chair of the Boston Arts Academy Alumni Board and Association and is proud to support a network of over 1,800 BAA alums in 26 states and abroad.
