Jenna Lord

Jenna McFarland Lord is a professional scenic designer and artist in the greater Boston area. Over the past 13 years Ms. Lord has designed for several professional companies in Boston such as; Speakeasy Stage Company, Boston Theatre Works, Stoneham Theatre, Shakespeare Now!, Foothills Theatre, The Lyric, and many more. Her work on “Cherry Docs” and “Collected Stories” at the New Repertory Theatre earned her IRNE nominations for Best Set Design, as did her design for “The Drowsy Chaperone” at Speakeasy Stage Co. During the past 11 summers Ms. Lord has been the resident set designer for the Gloucester Stage Company. This gave her the opportunity to design The Secret of Mme. Bonnard’s Bath by Israel Horovitz in New York City at Theatre Row. As a professional scenic artist, Ms. Lord has painted for just about every theatre company in town, but her work with WHDH Channel 7 stands out, as it earned a local Emmy Award for best local news set.

In addition to her professional career, Jenna was a professor at Stonehill College in the theatre department 6 years. She also designs for various colleges, including The Boston Conservatory, Brandeis, Boston College, and The New England Conservatory.

Jenna received her BFA at Emerson College in Acting in 1997 and stayed at Emerson to do her graduate work in Set Design until 1999. When she is not working, Jenna enjoys traveling with her husband, Sandy Lord and their daughter Evelyn Lord.
