Stephanie Loneck
STEAM Faculty
Ms. Loneck has joined BAA to share her enthusiasm for mathematical thinking and to empower youth to build their talents for lifelong learning. She has over 10 years of experience working in mathematics education in the Boston area, starting as a volunteer mathematics tutor in Dorchester while attending Northeastern University, where she earned a B.S. in mathematics. While obtaining her Masters of Arts in Education, also at Northeastern University, she served as a Site Director for a math-intensive after-school program with the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship (an AmeriCorps program). It was also during this time that she developed a passion for social justice and its importance in the classroom. Prior to teaching at BAA, Ms. Loneck taught math at Prospect Hill Academy in Cambridge, and spearheaded a school Math League team that competed with students all across the world. In addition to mathematics, Ms. Loneck shares a love of wellness and running- she put her interests to the test by completing the 2012 Boston Marathon in record heat. Similar to the persistence and training that was necessary to cross the Marathon finish line, Ms. Loneck aims to support students to push beyond the challenges they will face in mathematics and celebrate academic success!
