Good Evening, Boston Arts Academy Families,

I want to thank the community for their patience and support as we have returned students after the holiday break. It was great to see the students who returned and welcome them to 2022.

We want to make sure that all families are aware of some important Covid policy changes given the current state of the pandemic. Unfortunately, the Boston Public Schools and the Boston Public Health Commission have decided that there can be no classes that include singing and no classes that include playing of instruments until further notice. This is a painful blow to the music department, and a policy  that I hope changes very soon. The music faculty have some creative solutions for curriculum in the interim, and we will do all we can to support our student musicians.

We also are now opening up the possibility of open campus lunch to 9th graders who have explicit written permission from their parent/caregivers. Parent/caregivers who would like to give permission should email opencampus@bostonartsacademy.org. Students should understand that they are responsible for returning to the school building on time for their classes.
